Still Time

You’ve been carrying an idea for a while.

Nothing pressing.

It doesn’t need action yet.

Other things do.

What do you tell yourself?

I’ll come back to it when there’s space
It can wait a bit
There’s no rush
I’m not ready yet

Weeks pass.

You mention it casually.

The response is polite.

Interested, even.

What does that feel like?

Reassuring
Neutral
Relieving
Unimportant

Time passes without friction.

Nothing pushes.
Nothing pulls.

You notice your language change.

From will
to might.

You tell yourself:

It would take more energy now
I’ll wait until it feels right again
It’s still there if I want it

Not now

Later, you hear something familiar.

Someone else is doing something similar.

Not identical.
Just… adjacent.

You feel something tighten.

Then release.

The question has changed.

It is no longer:

Should I do this?

It is now:
Is it worth the effort?

There was still time.

Until there wasn't
